The basketball world is mourning the loss of coaching legend Pete Carril of the Princeton Tigers. But the City of Seattle had a different reaction on social media!
After hearing the news on the radio, the entire Washington city misheard the news and was devastated at losing the coach of the Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks players were especially sad because they had just seen their coach at practice on Monday, and then on the way home from work, they found out that he had died. All the Seattleites pitched in to drape the iconic Space Needle in black to mourn their head coach.
Pete Carroll was shocked on Tuesday morning when he opened his kitchen window and saw the covered-up landmark. “I thought it was being fumigated,” he recalled.

Needless to say, the Seahawks players were scared out of their wits when Coach C showed up to practice.
The whole city then celebrated the death of an elderly college basketball coach!

Rest in peace, Pete Carril!
