NBA 2K Video Game Programmers Expanding Era Modes for 2024

Gamers have been loving the new “era mode” feature of the NBA 2K23 video game where they can play in different time periods.

“We were really limited in the historical time periods for ’23,” said a 2K programmer. “We picked the early 1980s, early 1990s, and early 2000s. They’re all pretty cool, there are different super stars in each era. But you know, when we were brainstorming the next edition of 2K, we realized that those eras are really only 30 years apart. We need to take this up a notch!”

“We’re talking late 1800s! Whoa! The birth of basketball,” said a basketball coder. “How freaking dominant do you think Michael Jordan would be when the average life expectancy was 5’4″? Would the Bulls still draft him or would he get snatched up by another team?”

“Oh, we’re doing way better than 1800s,” said another programmer. “We’re talking Jurassic, Cretaceous, Mesozoic, Mastodons, primordial ooze. We’re gonna have it all, baby!”

The Portland Trail Blazers have to forfeit after their big man is carried off by a pterodactyl.

We can’t wait until 2024! What era are you most excited to play in?
