Every Sunday, fans hurriedly switch the channel to NBC so they don’t miss Carrie telling us what kind of showdown is in store!

“My family loves the National NFL Football Anthem,” says one fan who will be tuning in tonight. “It’s great to know before the game starts if we’re in for an ‘epic’ or a ‘nasty’ showdown. A few years ago, Carrie warned us it would be a ‘bloody’ showdown, so we made sure to put the kids to bed so they wouldn’t see. Thanks, Carrie!”

Some fans aren’t happy with the lack of detail. “It sucks when it’s a ‘division’ showdown. I’m like, ‘Tell me something I don’t know.’ If it’s a ‘stupid’ showdown, I want to know so I can keep bingeing Andy Griffith. Now there’s a good theme song.”

The popularity of Sunday Night Football is absolutely tied to its theme song and anthem. Remember in 2018 when SNF borrowed the theme song from the hit anime show Yu-Gi-Oh!
