Well, folks, if you click away from the Sports news and check out the entertainment section, you’ll find that the actors strike has come to an end! Writers and directors are chomping at the bit to bring us some new hit films!

The “sequel” genre has seen exponential growth in the past decade, as the Hollywood teams don’t feel like creating new characters and average joe’s like us want to relive our fave movies.

Let’s take a look at the potential sequels to sports movies that fans would most like to see!

The Replacements 2: The Players Go On Strike Again. Possibly inspired by the recent actors strike! The working title gives away a bit of the setup, but it could change–you never know! Will Keanu Reeves come BACK to the Washington Sentinels as a substitute coach? Did the tight end from the original movie marry that glamorous cheerleader and now their son is the tight end for the Sentinels? Did the Sentinels change their name to the Washington Footballs? Hollywood will have to make the movie so we can find out!

Rudy 2: Lost in New York. What a wild ride this one could be! Rudy “Rudy” Ruettiger goes to an away game with the Fighting Irish. Head coach Ara Parseghian gets Rudy a plane ticket to go to Florida with the team to play against a Florida college team, but mean ol’ also-the-head-coach Dan Devine tells Rudy that the game is actually in New York and leads Rudy to the wrong departure gate where he gets on a plane to New York. Antics ensue!

Rudy 3: Attack of the Clones. Shut the front door, Rudy “Daniel Eugene” Ruettiger is BACK! And he’s ready to suit up and score some touchdowns against his foes, the USC Trojans! But the evil dark lord head coach Dan Devine is so desperate to keep Rudy from scoring touchdowns, he clones the other members of the football team to keep Rudy out of the starting lineup! Will Rudy be able to convince the clones to lay down their jerseys so he can play? You’ll have to watch the film to find out!

Cooler Runnings: Jamaica, We Have a Football Team! Sanka and Yul Brenner, who have both been turned into immortal androids by an evil scientist, coach a Jamaican football team for the 2098 Olympics! But little do they know, the evil scientist also turned Rudy “the Rudy” “Rudy” Ruettiger into an immortal android, and he’s BACK and ready to coach the United States Olympic football team to victory. Will Sanka and Yul Brenner be able to bring home the gold?

The Blind Side 2: Another Blind Side. The Tuohy family is BACK and, after spending all their earnings from the first movie on legal fees, they’re hoping to grow their rainy-day fund with royalties from a sequel!
