76ers Hospital Outing

Nearly the entire Philadelphia Sixers organization squeezed their way into Kelly Oubre Jr.’s hospital room earlier today to pay their injured teammate a visit.

Mr. Oubre was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run on Saturday evening. Police are on the lookout for a crumpled car that looks like it ran into an NBA player.

The Sixers community was stunned by the accident, and the players were in a rush to visit their buddy Kelly Oubre Jr.

“I told them one at a time,” said a frazzled doctor. “But they wouldn’t listen, they just kept cramming on in. It was wall-to-wall ballers. Mr. Oubre Jr. has even more broken ribs now.”

Kelly Oubre Jr.’s well-wishers!

Sixers head coach Nick Nurse unfortunately never made it to the room to visit Kelly Oubre Jr.

“It was chaos,” Coach Nurse recalled after the visit. “I was just outside his door, and I heard someone call my name. I was trying to figure out who was calling me, so I started looking around. And then a totally different person said my name. And then another and another and another! Long story short, I ended up in the OR assisting with a triple bypass. It was pretty neat, but I think I’ll stick with coaching b-ball.”

We hope you feel better, Kelly Oubre Jr!
