Five Key Phrases to Know for the NFL Frankfurt Games

So you’re going to the NFL London Game in Frankfurt, but you haven’t cracked open a German book since high school! And even then, it was an accident because your high school only offered Spanish and French. Well, worry not! We at Athlete in Space got you covered!

Here are five things you’ll probably need to say while you’re in Frankfurt!

“Where is the bathroom?”
You’ll probably need to pee this weekend! You may even need to drop a number two as well. If nature is calling, just turn to the person next to you and say, “Where is the bathroom?” They’ll know exactly what you’re saying!

“I would like a beer please.”
Oktoberfest just ended, so you bet there is plenty of delicious leftover beer! If you’d like to sample the local Frankfurt brews while you’re at the game, all you have to do is walk up to the concession stand, probably wait in line for a few minutes, and then when it’s your turn, you just walk up to the counter and say, “I would like a beer please.” Very polite!

“This is good beer.”
Heck yeah it is! If you like the beer you order, you can turn to the person next to you and say, “This is good beer.” They’ll definitely agree with you, and you will have a new friend. Good job!

Cheers!

“Where is the museum?”
You don’t want to fly half-way around the world and only watch a football game, do you? After the game, it’s time to learn about Frankfurt! When the game ends, turn to your new German pal and say, “Where is the museum?” Depending on what directions the person gives you, you could end up at an art museum, a history museum, a film museum, or some other kind of museum. Let fate (and your new German chum) decide!

“Please speak slower.”
Your new friend will be really happy to talk to you and give you directions! But they might talk a little too quickly! If you’re having a hard time keeping up, just say, “Please speak slower.” But be sure to say it in German so they understand you!
