The Las Vegas Raiders received criticism today for benching QB Jimmy Garoppolo on his birthday.

“That’s unbelievably rude,” said one football fan. “It’s his special day.”

“I’d be real sad if my coach benched me on my birthday,” said another fan. “I’m turning eight this year!”

“I definitely think the Raiders could have handled it better,” said a Las Vegas native. “Jimmy G is 32 years old, for crying out loud. He doesn’t need ‘birthday wishes’ on Twitter. Just bench the guy and move on!”

“Is that too harsh? Here, let me draft some alternative tweets.”

“The ‘lol’ at the end is a nice touch! No? Okay, how about this.”

“See, it’s great, it acknowledges his birthday. He’s 32, he doesn’t need to be coddled. Okay fine.”
