Well, folks, the official start of the NFL football season has come and gone!
Many people thought the opening game of the season would be a blow-out with the Kansas City Chieves triumphing over the Detroit Lions at home in Arrowhead Stadium. The Vegas odds of Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes being the MVP skyrocketed! Lions fans were excited to see their main mans Head Coach Dan Campbell and QB Jared Goff! The members of the Andy Reid Fan Club who wish Coach R was their grandpa were freaking psyched to see Big Andy in action!
But it was the head referee John Hussey who stole the show tonight, and now even Lions fans barely remember their team’s victory in Kansas City!
During the fourth quarter, when tensions were high and fans thought both teams had a chance at victory, referee John “The Cool Referee” Hussey did an official referee signal that folks thought meant a delay of game. But!!! It turns out it was actually a really boss genie move like Jeannie from the hit 60s show I Dream of Jeannie. And then he DISAPPEARED!!!!!!

“That game was EPIC,” said an excited Lions fan after the game. “I mean, it kind of sucked until the fourth quarter, and then that one ref did that move, and like, WHOA!!!! Freaking sweet, man. Hashtag mind blown!”
“What did you think of the Lions victory?” pressed the reporter.
The fan looked confused. “Oh, the Lions won? Neat.”
“Best game ever. Hands down,” said Head Coach Andy Reid. “What a cool move by John [Hussey], always keeping us guessing! I bet he left the game to go get some famous Kansas City barbecue.”
